Adam Air, incorporated as Adam SkyConnection Airlines PT, is a privately owned airline based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Its main base is Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta, with secondary hubs in Medan and Surabaya. Although sometimes referred to as a low-cost carrier, it markets itself as an airline which straddles between low-cost and traditional carriers by offering good on-board service with meals, but at competitive prices, similar to the model adopted by Singapore-based Valuair. It is entirely owned by and named after Adam Adhitya Suherman, the Chief Executive of the company. Services As of October 2005, Adam Air operates services to the following domestic scheduled destinations: Balikpapan, Banda Aceh, Banjarmasin, Denpasar, Jakarta, Jambi, Lampung, Medan, Padang, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, Pekanbaru, Pontianak, Semarang, Surabaya, Ujung Pandang and Yogyakarta. Adam Air also flies internationally from Medan to Penang (Malaysia). From 28 October2005, it will operate thrice daily from Jakarta to Singapore.
